Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Eduardo Cobo obtained his DVM from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of La Plata, Argentina. Thereafter, he undertook a residency in Animal Health and enrolled in graduate studies investigating vaccines against bovine sexually transmitted diseases at the National Institute for Agricultural Technology (Argentina). He subsequently received an MS and a PhD in Comparative Pathology at the University of California Davis, where he studied the immunopathology of trichomoniasis in bulls (with fellowships from the Fulbright Commission and Organization of American States). His postdoctoral training included investigating cathelicidins and inhibitors of cysteine proteinases against trichomoniasis and amebiasis (University of California San Diego) and characterizing interactions between host defense peptides and mucin at the intestinal mucosa (University of Calgary).
